Labor does not take Parliament seriously

Leader of the House, Felix Ellis slammed Labor for not taking parliament seriously today.

Despite claiming to want to get on with important parliamentary business, Labor instead:

  • Voted against debating COI scrutiny hearing questions on notice

  • Voted against moving to question time

  • Voted against moving to briefings on the Supreme Court matter

Labor’s continued attempts to pull cheap political stunts and the refusal to debate important issues like the Commission of Inquiry show Tasmanians they cannot be trusted.

Minister Ellis reiterated that the Government moved to work in good faith with the opposition and prioritise debate.

“The parliament sat the whole day and Labor made it clear they weren’t interested.

“Labor instead made it all about themselves and their stunts and Becflips.

Labor have had an abysmal year with their twice failed leader, and showed once again they have nothing to offer Tasmanians.

In contrast, the Government will continue to deliver on its long-term plan to do what matters for all Tasmanians.
