Tenders called as part of police technology investment

Tenders have been called to transform the technology used by Tasmania Police, as the Rockliff Liberal Government continues to revolutionise policing for the future.

Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Management, Felix Ellis said the tender, which is part of our Government’s significant investment in Project Unify, will provide integrated ICT systems to ensure officer safety, solve crime, and support victim-survivors.

“This technology will extend the capability of the new Police Atlas system to improve police response to solving crime.

“This is about our police officers having access to real time information that is linked across systems which allows them to protect our community, and catch and prosecute criminals.

“Our Government is committed to delivering technology and infrastructure upgrades that support policing operations and help keep Tasmanians safe,” Minister Ellis said.

The first phase of Project Unify delivered a $13.1 million Atlas system, which has provided police with improved access to criminal intelligence, and a new approach to the management of warrants, missing persons and searches.

The Atlas system has also improved connectivity with Child Safety Services relating to children at risk.

The request for tender (RFT) invites submissions from the Government’s Technology Services List to promote participation from Tasmanian businesses and to comply with the Government’s Buy Local Policy.
